Master Plan - St. Andrews
Retirement Community, Richmond, KY
St. Andrews Retirement Community,
is a joint effort by four Richmond churches to
provide retirement living and health care facilities for the community. The development plan was
started in 1989 and now includes 36.4 acres near downtown Richmond, adjacent to Million Park, a
recreational facility designed for the elderly. The condominiums for
independent living now total 61 residences, 73 Assisted Living apartments with full dining
facilities and a 40 bed personal care facility, programmed for 120 skilled
care beds. |
 |
St. Andrews Condominiums -
Independent Living Cottages
Since the inception of St. Andrews, the condominiums have been very popular living units.
Each dwelling is slab-on-grade brick veneer construction, designed to provide the
atmosphere of a small home, with two bedrooms and a garage and a basement
where topography permits. Every unit has a front
porch to provide a place for neighbors to visit. For private relaxation a patio
or deck is included. To date, 61 condominiums have been constructed. |
 |
McCready Manor - Assisted
Living Apartments
This facility contains 73 apartments for assisted living. Each apartment has a patio
or balcony, full kitchen and bath. A full commercial kitchen and dining room will
accommodate about 100 residents and guests. A full time emergency call system to a nurses
station is provided from each bedroom and bath in McCready Manor and in the
Condominiums for Independent Living. |
 |
Telford
Terrace - Personal Care Facility
Phase 1 of this facility serves 40 personal care beds, and includes common
facilities, administration, dining and kitchen facilities for its full
long range capacity of 120 skilled care beds. A unique feature of
this facility are "atriums", in each wing, over 25' high with
skylights bringing light into the center of this facility. |

Master Plan - Christian
Village, Hopkinsville, KY
In 1978, a master development plan was prepared for the entire campus, which had
two existing facilities, a Health Center and Congregate Living facility. The goal of
the plan was to provide a full range of retirement facilities from independent living to
skilled nursing care. Since then the office has prepared plans for: an Intermediate
Care wing for he Health Center, apartments for the elderly and townhouses for independent
living. |
 |
Chapel House - Elderly
Apartments, Assisted Living
This facility includes living and social activities to 86 retired families and
individuals. Its architectural style matches the brick, roof pitch and theme of the other
building on the campus. |
 |
The Village - Cottages for
Independent Living
These cottages are one-story townhouses, each with front porch and patio.
Parking is in front of the units. Patios face the interior green of the
campus. Additional units, with garages, are under construction due to a strong
demand for this type of retirement housing. |
